Italy Celebrates the 500th Anniversary of THE death OF THE RENAISSANCE ARTIST Raffaello Sanzio
In Italy we celebrate the five hundred years of Raphael's death in 1520 - the great Italian painter and architect of Urbino - who as a student of his teacher Perugino worked in Deruta in 1474. Here today at Antica Fornace Deruta, Giovanni Baiano has created a special set of dishes decorated by hand with new fresh colors using the decorations of Raphael created in the fifteenth century to commemorate this Renaissance master, and it is called Raffaello.
